CHRISTOPHER G. CARD

Sergeant Christopher Garrett Card returned home to his heavenly father on September 5, 2022. A beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend will be truly missed.

Chris was born on July 29,1986 to Ann and Charlie Card in Houston, Texas. He graduated in 2005 from Elkins High School before joining the United States Marine Corp. Chris found true happiness in his enrollment as the Marine Corp. was a passion of Chris’ throughout his life. He felt great pride in joining and following in the footsteps of the men he admired most, his father, uncle and grandfather. Throughout his service, Chris traveled the world as he served the

U.S. Embassies’ with posts in Africa, the Netherlands and Mexico. His dedication and the joy he found in service was evident to all.

Chris will forever be remembered for the twinkle in his eye which accompanied a most gentle soul. His loyalty to friends and family defined him. The family finds peace in knowing that he is at rest eternally alongside his beloved father, Charlie T. Card, whom Chris has greatly missed.

Chris is survived by his mother, Ann Neath Card, his sister and brother-inlaw, Lindsey and Patrick McElligott, and their two daughters, Olivia and Paige McElligott, who provided Chris such joy. He is also survived by his grandmother, Beverly G. Haltom, his aunts and uncles; Betsy and Gary Adair, Kim and James Card, and Joyce and Raymond Pierson, along with many adoring cousins. In addition to his father, Charles T. Card, Chris is proceeded in death by grandparents, Pauline and Henry Card, W. Scott Haltom, and John A. Neath.

The family will gather for a memorial service honoring Chris on October 8, 2022 at 2pm at Earthman Bellaire. He will later be privately laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery with military recognition.

While his time on earth has passed too soon, the family is forever grateful for the love he gave and is comforted in knowing that he is at peace above.
