State’s Latinos outpace whites
The Latino population in Texas may have surpassed the white, non-Latino population, according to new U.S. Census estimates. The American Communities Survey showed the Latino population has reached 11.9 million people — 40 percent of the state’s population — compared to the 11.6 million white, non-Latinos.
