Nancy Elizabeth Reese, 85, passed away September 13, 2022, in Sugar Land, TX surrounded by her family. Born in San Francisco, CA she was the daughter of Chester and Lillian Hahn. She attended San Jose State University where she met her husband William. She spent the next

30 years supporting her husband’s distinguis­hed Air Force career, which took them and their growing family to several different countries and numerous states before they retired in San Antonio, TX. Through all the moves and her husband’s deployment­s she was the anchor of the family ensuring that every new house was a home and their children had what they needed to grow and succeed. She mentored student pilots’ spouses and volunteere­d several hundred hours a year to support military families. She helped with the Head Start program, tutored elementary school students, worked with local law enforcemen­t to improve community safety, and volunteere­d with the American Red Cross for over 30 years. She was a devoted Catholic serving the various parishes she attended throughout her life. She was a Lady in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Her efforts were regularly recognized by those she helped. She was a true hero to her family and to her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Reese and her sister Lee Rutherford. She is survived by her children (and their spouses) Brian Reese

(Debi), Kathy Joyce (Gene), Susan McFarland (Jeff ), Shirley Jefferies (Trevor), Paul Reese (Monica); her grandchild­ren (and their spouses) Christophe­r McFarland (Victoria), Kristian Reese, Travis McFarland (Teresa), Alex Jefferies, Josh Reese (Alina), Nicholas Jefferies (Margaret), Ian Jefferies, Louden Reese; her great grandchild­ren Maegan McFarland, Madison McFarland, William McFarland, Matthew Reese; her sister Carolyn Felty; and her dog Phoebe.

The Vigil Service and Rosary will be held September 28 from 6pm until 8pm at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., Rosenberg. The Funeral Service Mass will be held September 29 at 10am at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land. The committal service will be held September 30 at 1:30pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Catholic Relief Services, support.crs.org; the

American Red Cross, redcross.org; the Humane Society, secured.humanesoci­ety.org; or your local animal shelter.
