EUGENE “GENE” ADAMS CRAIN

Gene Crain, 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, TX. Saturday July 16, 2022, with his son Gene at his side.

Gene was born in Houston on Mother’s Day, May 9th,1954 to Betty Adams Crain and Dr. Edward Lillo Crain Jr. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1972 and started college at the University of Santa Cruz. He moved back to Houston and attended Rice University where he graduated in 1977. In the mid 80’s he founded Crain Constructi­on, a very successful home constructi­on and remodeling company.

Gene enjoyed the water and had a deep love for Galveston and its beaches especially our beloved “Crainhaven”. He enjoyed surfing, fishing, tennis, traveling, riding dirt bikes and hunting. He loved to have ‘Fun” and loved sharing these interests with his many friends but especially with his sons, Adam and Gene. He never met a stranger.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Lillo Crain, his sisters Marjorie

Crain Parkerson, Joan Crain Nelson as well as his nephew TJ Palm, brother-in-law Fred Allred and his dear cousin, Henry Adams

He is survived by his son, Adam Crain, wife Jessica and his grandson Theodore, his son, Gene Crain, the mother of his sons and his former wife, Nan Crain.

He is also survived by his sister Liza Crain Allred all of Houston. His sister Annie Vive Crain Palm (Tomas) of Wimberley,TX and his beloved brother Danny, wife Kirsten and their son Leo of Kauai, Hawaii. His nephews John Parkerson, Ramsey Allred, Kyle Allred, Hamilton Nelson (wife Amy and their daughter Leah). His nieces Eliza Parkerson (Natalie), Katy Palm Rainwater (Daniel and their son Tristen),

Anna Palm Friedman (Ben and their son Josh) and his brothers-in-law Sandy Parkerson and Joe Nelson, as well as Crain, Adams, Clements, Cook and McMahon relatives.

He leaves many extremely devoted and lifelong friends who stood by him through thick and thin, including Imy Matthews who was like a second mother to him.

Rest in peace dear brother.

There will be a private family service held at a later date
