Marilyn Morrow Kirkley, age 102 passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 in Gatesville.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, with Rev. Stephen Schmidt officiatin­g.

Marilyn Morrow Kirkley was born on September 16, 1920 in Springer, New Mexico to the late James and Helen Aldridge Morrow. She was raised on the family ranch in Capulin, New Mexico, attended high school in Raton and attended the University of New Mexico, Albuquerqu­e where she met her husband Charles Reagan Kirkley. Active in Chi Omega, Spurs, and Mortarboar­d, she was in Who’s Who in American Colleges, graduating in 1942. She and Reagan married in 1943 and later resided in Houston for over fifty years. Following his death in 2000 she remained in Houston for another twelve years, a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, active in P.E.O. and indulging her love of bridge whenever possible. She later moved to Gatesville in 2014.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Reagan Kirkley, Jr.; brothers, James Morrow, Jr. and John Leslie Morrow and her beloved Dachshund companion, Jack.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Ann Kirkley Kugler and husband, Alejandro; Mary Jane Zeigler and husband, Phil; grandchild­ren, Carlos Kugler, Andres Kugler, Mina Rios, Phillip Zeigler, James Zeigler; and five great grandchild­ren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Meadows for the dedicated attention and loving care given to our mother in every day of her time spent there.
