Carole Ann (Waska) McAshan was born June 11, 1937 and departed peacefully on September 23, 2022 at the age of 85. A beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r,

and friend, Carole McAshan will be remembered for her strength, perseveran­ce, and caring nature.

Carole was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota to parents Charles Waska and Mildred Waska. Carole was raised in a large family of eight children including brothers Charles (Chuck), Robert (Bob), Ronald (Ron), Donnie, and sisters Patricia (Pat), Marcia, and Mary Louise. The family spent time growing up in Minnesota, Montana, California, and Texas.

Carole married John Brashear McAshan December 31, 1960. They began their life in Austin, TX, while attending the University of Texas where their first child, John

(Johnny) McAshan, Jr. was born. They continued their life having two more children, Mark McAshan, and Madalyn McAshan, in Houston, TX where the family settled.

Carole was passionate about reading, learning, education, and volunteeri­ng for hospitals, churches, and her children’s sports teams and activities. Carole was an integral part of influencin­g and supporting her children’s and grandchild­ren’s education.

Carole enjoyed a long career in real estate sales as an associate with Jim West, and later managing offices with Henry S. Miller, Bering Realty, and Century 21 Blankenshi­p.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Brashear McAshan.

Carole is survived by her brother Ron Waska and wife Annie, sister Marcia Traylor, son Johnny McAshan and wife Maria, son Mark McAshan and wife Letty, daughter Madalyn McAshan, grandchild­ren Erin McAshan, Katherine McAshan, Raegan McAshan, Alexandra Hueni, Gwyndalyn Hueni, Ian McAshan, Rachel McAshan, Sarah McAshan, and Abigail McAshan.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm In the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood Drive, Houston, TX 77043. The

Rite of Committal to follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
