Texas Southern earns 2nd win
PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Jacorey Howard scored from a yard out to cap a game-winning drive as Texas Southern held off Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 24-17 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference battle on Saturday.
The loss was the third straight to open conference play for the Golden Lions (2-4, 0-3), who tied the game three times but never led.
Andrew Body was 21 for 33 for 211 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception and added 12 carries for 55 yards and a score to lead Texas Southern (2-4, 2-2). Howard led the Tigers with 64 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and caught three passes for 15 yards and a score.
Skyler Perry was held to just 76 yards on 13for-29 passing with an interception. Kayvon Britten carried 19 times for 97 yards and scored both touchdowns for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Gavin Lasseigne's 52-yard field goal with about 10 minutes to play was the only score of the fourth quarter, but it was enough to get the visiting Colonels (1-5, 1-1 Southland) their first win of the season.
Leonard Kelly completed 24- and 16-yard passes as Nicholls converted on third downs twice that helped set up Lasseigne's game-winning kick.
Justin Fomby threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Karl Reynolds to pull Houston Christian to 13-7 with 4:52 remaining in the third quarter. Nicholls turned the ball over with fumbles on its next two possessions before Fomby's 5-yard TD pass to Deon Cormier gave the Huskies the lead heading into the fourth.
Collin Guggenheim had 82 yards rushing with a 2-yard touchdown run for Nicholls. Fomby was 18-of-28 passing for 216 yards and threw an interception for Houston Christian (2-3, 1-1).

Chris Campos kicked a 51-yard field goal on the final play of the game for the host Lumberjacks (3-3, 1-1 Western Athletic).
Campos' winning kick came after Abilene Christian's Blair Zepeda was short on a 54-yard fieldgoal attempt with 4 seconds remaining. Xavier Gipson returned the attempt 41 yards and a personal foul on the Wildcats added 15 yards and extended the game one play — setting up Campos' game-winner.

Layne Hatcher completed 26 of 36 passes for 281 yards and two firsthalf touchdowns, Tory Spears returned an interception 93 yards for a TD and the host Bobcats (3-3, 1-2 Sun Belt) never trailed.
INCARNATE WORD 56, LAMAR 17
Lindsey Scott Jr. passed for 401 yards and seven touchdowns — all on seven first-half possessions — to propel host Incarnate Word (5-1, 2-1 Southland). Lamar dropped to 0-6, 0-3.
UTSA 31 WESTERN KENTUCKY 28
Frank Harris completed 24 of 35 passes for 275 yards and touchdown and added 61 yards rushing — including a 12-yard TD — on 10 carries to help the host Roadrunners (4-2, 2-0) in a rematch of the Conference USA championship game.
LOUISIANA TECH 41 UTEP 31
Parker McNeil threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns and Tre Harris caught five passes for 126 yards and a touchdown as the host Bulldogs (2-3, 1-0 Conference USA) ended a two-game losing streak. The Miners are 3-4, 1-2.
