Robert Edwin Adams “Eddie” a.k.a. Red Legs, Red Devil or Redbird passed away on October 9th, 2022 surrounded by his family. Eddie attended Poe Elementary, Lanier Junior High and Lamar High School. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1957 where he was a member of

Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Rose Adams, his parents Fisher D. Adams and Alpha C. Adams and brother David Adams. He is survived by sons Keith D. Adams and wife Ellan Borneman Adams, Rob Adams, Jr. and wife Blake Jones Adams and his beloved grandsons Rob Adams, III and Holden D. Adams who affectiona­tely referred to him as Redbird.

Eddie met the love of his life Peggy Rose in 1952 and they were married in 1956. Eddie and Peggy shared 62 years together and were blessed by many special friends with whom they shared years of happy memories. Eddie was an avid golfer and sports fan, participat­ing in and being a spectator. He especially loved the Houston Oilers, Texas Longhorns and coaching the Shamrocks. He and Peggy loved following their sons and grandsons playing sports and hearing their many stories.

Eddie had a 60 year business career in the insurance business until his retirement. At Eddie’s request, the family will gather for a private memorial service celebratin­g his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial contributi­ons be made in Eddie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice. Hook’em!
