For many seniors who are not familiar with the language, navigating the retirement process is a complicate­d task, with several steps to complete before accessing Medicare benefits at age 65.

The good news is that the national Medical program is accessible not only for English speakers.

The website www.medicare.gov includes options for beneficiar­ies to read – in their own language – all about this government-sponsored health program for senior citizens.

In Houston alone, the other languages spoken besides English are Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic and French (per houstontx.gov). The list also includes 25 top languages just for this city, with Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Persian, Korean and German among them.
