Pettis remains out while battling illness

Astros third-base coach Gary Pettis missed his third consecutive American League Championship Series game on Saturday while battling an illness, but the team is optimistic Pettis could travel to New York later this weekend.

Pettis did not accompany the Astros to New York on Friday, but a team spokesman said the 64-year-old coach is feeling better.

First-base coach Omar López coached third base on Saturday while quality control coach Dan Firova filled in at first.
