What would concern you most about this Raiders team?

-

Alexander: A lot of things scare me about the Raiders’ offense. They have an All-Star cast of receivers starting with Davante Adams. He might be the best receiver in the NFL. Then you have Hunter Renfrow, one of the best route runners in the league. And Mack Hollins, who can burn you deep. The Texans are fortunate tight end Darren Waller, the Raiders’ third-leading receiver, won’t play.

But the Texans have been good against the pass this season, and I don’t think that will change. What would concern me most about this game, if I were the Texans, is the Raiders’ rushing offense.

Running back Josh Jacobs has been on fire in recent games. In his last two games, he’s rushed for 298 yards and three rushing touchdowns. This is the type of production I was looking for from him on my fantasy team two years ago.

In all seriousness though, he’s dangerous.

And we both know, that the Texans’ haven’t quite figured out how to stop the run. Players have been out of their gaps, they’ve missed tackles. The Raiders aren’t the greatest team, but if the Texans aren’t able to contain Jacobs, I think the Raiders will run away with it.

Kubena: You named it. Until the Texans prove they can stop anyone’s run game, teams with Pro Bowl running backs like Josh Jacobs will have a clear advantage. There’s something to be said about how if Hunter Renfrow doesn’t play that the Texans will be able to more often drop down Jalen Pitre or some other defender in the box to aid in the run game.

We’ll see just how much Lovie Smith trusts Derek Stingley Jr. to lock down Davante Adams with limited help up top. Still, the biggest problem is on the front. So, until the defensive line and linebackers improve in filling their holes, it doesn’t matter how Smith organizes his

scheme.
