Owens sparks Cy-Fair in blowout
Trey Owens threw six touchdown passes to fuel Cy-Fair’s 51-0 win over Cypress Ridge at Pridgeon Stadium in a District 17-6A matchup.
Cy-Fair improved to 8-1 and 6-0 in district play with the win.
Zaccheas Baynes, Owen Carter, Cooper Stevens and Kyle Chambers were on the receiving end of Owens’ TD passes.
Cy-Fair led just 7-0 after one quarter before entering halftime up 34-0.
The Bobcats end the season against Memorial at 1 p.m. Saturday at home while Cypress Ridge (2-7, 2-4) plays at Cypress Creek at 7 p.m. Friday.
KEMPNER 19, TERRY 0
Corban Evers had a hand in all three Kempner scores as the Cougars won their first game of the season, downing Terry in a District 10-5A Division 1 game at Traylor Stadium.
Kempner took a 6-0 lead when Evers threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Jacobs with 3:51 left in the first quarter.
The Cougars’ lead rose to 13-0 on a 5-yard run by Evers a minute later.
Evers then connected with Edrion Gray for a 30-yard scoring play and a 19-0 lead at halftime.
Kempner (1-8, 1-6) ends its season at 7 p.m. Friday at Angleton while Terry (2-7, 0-6) ends with a home game against Manvel at 7 p.m. Friday, too.
NORTH FOREST 44 KASHMERE 19
North Forest scored 32 unanswered points to topple Kashmere in a District 11-4A Division 1 game at Delmar Stadium.
Kashmere led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter before building a 19-12 lead at halftime.
North Forest, though, moved ahead 24-19 on an 8-yard touchdown run by Jaden Brown and a 6-yard TD burst by Justin Whitaker in the third quarter.
North Forest (3-6, 2-4) ends its season at 7 p.m. Friday at Wheatley while Kashmere (3-6, 1-5) faces Furr in its season finale at 7 p.m. Friday.
KLEIN CAIN 52, WALLER 7
Jaelen Smith scored three first-half touchdowns as Klein Cain rolled to a win in a District 15-6A game at Klein Memorial Stadium.
Klein Cain (8-1, 5-1) is tied for the district lead with Klein Collins and Tomball entering the final week of the season.
The Hurricanes play at Tomball at 7 p.m. Friday in a game that will determine playoff seeding.
Waller (0-9, 0-6) ends its season at 7 p.m. Friday at home against Tomball Memorial.
BELLAIRE 31, CHAVEZ 24
Jack Kennedy threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Cordavian Adams on fourth-and-5 with 4:16 left in the game to propel Bellaire past Chavez at Butler Stadium.
The win improved Bellaire to 2-3 in district.
Bellaire (2-7) concludes its season when it plays at Lamar at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Chavez (1-8, 0-5) also wraps up its campaign when the Lobos host Heights in another 1 p.m. Saturday matchup.
DULLES 20, ELKINS 2
A strong defensive effort lifted Dulles to a victory in a District
20-6A game at Mercer Stadium.
Dulles improved to 3-6 overall and 3-4 in district games with the win.
The Vikings host Clements at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Elkins (2-7, 1-6) plays at George Ranch at 7 p.m. Thursday.
BUSH 42, AUSTIN 7
Bush easily turned back Austin in a District 20-6A game at Tully Stadium.
The Broncos (2-7, 2-5) won for the second time in three weeks.
Austin (2-7, 0-7) dropped its seventh straight game and will finish its season Thursday at Hightower with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Bush will also close out its season Friday when it hosts Travis at 7 p.m.
STERLING 58, WISDOM 0
Sterling solidified its playoff status in a District 9-5A Division 1 matchup at Barnett Stadium.
Sterling improved to 6-3 overall and 5-2 in district to tie Madison for third place. Wisdom dropped to 2-7 and 2-5.
Sterling concludes the regular season at Madison at 7 p.m. Friday while Wisdom faces Galveston Ball at 1 p.m. Saturday.
