TCU tops Tech, improves to 9-0

FORT WORTH — Derius Davis returned a punt 82 yards for a touchdown and Kendre Miller ran for the goahead score early in the fourth quarter as No. 7 TCU beat Texas Tech 34-24 on Saturday to reach 9-0 for the first time since 2010.

Davis caught one of Max Duggan’s two fourth-quarter TD passes for TCU.

The previous perfect run for TCU (6-0 in Big 12 this season) came in the Mountain West Conference and was before the College Football Playoff.

The nine-game winning streak is the longest since the Horned Frogs won 16 straight over the 2014-15 seasons.

The Red Raiders (4-5, 2-4) went ahead 17-13 in the third quarter on Tyler Shough’s 33-yard touchdown pass to J.J. Sparkman.

Duggan was 12 of 23 for 195 yards without an intercepti­on, giving him 24 TDs and two picks.

Devin Neal ran for 224 yards and a touchdown and had 110 receiving yards to lead the host Jayhawks (6-3, 3-3), who are bowl eligible for the first time since 2008.

The Cowboys (6-3, 3-3), playing without quarterbac­k Spencer Sanders, had four turnovers.

BAYLOR 38, OKLAHOMA 35

Craig Williams ran for a career-high 192 yards and two touchdowns, and the visiting Bears (6-3, 4-2) kept their conference title hopes alive.

Williams, a fifth-year junior, had rushed for 456 yards his entire injury-plagued career before exploding against the Sooners (5-4, 2-4). Dillon Gabriel had three TDs but also threw three intercepti­ons.

Hunter Dekkers threw for two touchdowns and Xavier Hutchinson had 123 receiving yards and a score as the host Cyclones (4-5, 1-5 Big 12) snapped a five-game skid.
