Bruce Burton Dice, 95, of Spring, Texas peacefully went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 5, 2022. He was born to William Lambert

Dice and Wilma Rose Dice on December 24, 1926, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bruce attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan after a two-year stint in the US Navy during the last two years of World War II. After two years at Calvin College, he went to

The University of Michigan to become a Petroleum Geologist. In 1950, he moved to East Lansing, Michigan and received a master’s degree in Geology from Michigan State University. There are contributions from Bruce in both schools – a field camp cottage in Camp Davis in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and a complete library of books from the American Association of Petroleum Geology at Michigan State University.

On June 18, 1949, Bruce married Charlene Katherine Harkes in the chapel at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They walked life’s pathways closely together with God’s guidance and blessings. In their marriage, three children were born: Karen, Kevin, and Kirk.

After completing his education in 1951, Bruce went to work for various oil and gas companies and started his career working for The California Company, later known as Chevron. He progressed in leadership roles in his field beginning work for ODECO in New Orleans in 1962, where he worked for twelve years as Chief Geologist. In 1975, his career took him to Houston, TX to join Transco Exploration Company, concluding his tenure there as President. In 1984, Bruce founded his own company in Houston which today is known as Wadi Petroleum, Inc., where he proudly worked with his two sons.

Bruce had a philanthropic phase to his life in the later years which was a meaningful period of gratitude for his many blessings. He specifically devoted his talents and treasures to further the education of others through granting scholarships in the field of Geology and Christian Philosophy through the Bruce B. Dice Foundation. His most significant philanthropic endeavor was creating and funding a world class gem and mineral museum, the Bruce B. Dice Mineralogical Museum at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It remains today as an important entity on that campus with many visitors and students.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Charlene, and his sister, Judy Dice Karsen. He is survived by his loving companion

Carol Evans; daughter, Karen Dice Clemens; son, Kevin B. Dice, and wife, Elizabeth; and son, Kirk B. Dice, and wife, Margaret; and numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, Sandy Cherry, who has faithfully served as his executive assistant since 1977. She and her husband, Paul, and children, are considered family.

The family wishes to extend a special and heartfelt thank you for the countless hours of exceptional care provided by Rose Ngatia and Thomas Nyingo, and the other caregivers from The Village at Gleannloch Farms, Spring, Texas. The outpouring of love from the wonderful and skilled caregivers was felt daily by Bruce and his family.

Arrangements are being coordinated by Klein Funeral Home. Open visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX. The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 10th, at Northwoods Presbyterian Church, 3320 Cypress Creek Pkwy, Houston, TX commencing at 10:30 a.m.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
