Fred Rosen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, at 96 years young. Fred was born, raised, and graduated from high school in Port Arthur, Texas, but did not attend his graduation services so that he could enlist in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served for 2 years, and received an honorable discharge.

He attended the University of Texas and received a Degree in Business in 1952. He was involved in a variety of businesses including steel drum reconditio­ning, scrap iron and metal, demolition, real estate, and various investment­s. He served as president, and was on the boards, of several associated companies.

Fred and his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1962. He was the captain of his high school basketball team, was an eagle scout, and loved playing tennis, skiing, water sports, and golfing, as well as travel with his beloved family and friends. He had a zest for life, quick wit, and admired the intricacie­s of art. He was a fierce protector and provider for his family.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Marian; sister, Shirley Muse; his two children, Karen and her husband Will; and Gary and his wife Amy; grandchild­ren, Nicholas and his wife Nicole, Ethan, and Arthur; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebratio­n of Fred’s Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, it is Fred’s wish for others to express appreciati­on to those who make life a little better or easier for them, in this complex world we live in.
