The Houston Chronicle’s football writers and columnists make their predictions for the Texans’ Week 10 game against the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.:

Giants 28, Texans 25
I expect Dameon Pierce to have a big game Sunday, likely over 100 yards. But that won’t be enough to pull off the upset. The Giants have one of the best rushing offenses in the NFL with Saquon Barkley, and the Texans still haven’t figured out how to stop the run. Sunday ain’t the day that will happen.
Brooks Kubena

Giants 31, Texans 24
Until the Texans prove they can stop the run, every opponent with a solid running back can just hand the ball off repeatedly and know their offensive success will outlast Houston’s. The Giants and Saquon Barkley should approach this game no differently. New York is also susceptible to the run, but its league-leading blitz rate will be a huge test for rookie left guard Kenyon Green and the Texans’ interior offensive line.
Brian T. Smith
COLUMNIST
Giants 24, Texans 13
When the NFL schedule came out this was a win, on paper, for the Texans. Now that the real games are being played, the
Giants are one of the NFL’s best stories and the Texans are an easy win, on paper, for Brian Daboll and Co.
Jerome Solomon
COLUMNIST
Giants 23, Texans 17
The Giants are nowhere near as good as their record (6-2). The Texans are just about as bad as their record (1-6-1) says they are.
