Still the last National League team to win back-to-back championships. The Big Red Machine title teams boasted one of the best lineups ever with Hall of Famers Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan and Tony Perez, all-time hit king Pete Rose, slugger George Foster, plus Ken Griffey Jr. and Dave Concepcion. Cincinnati would vie with the 1998-99 Yankees for best two-year team.
