Westfield wins, advances to semis

Preston Hatter finished with three touchdowns, Taji Atkins added two more, including the goahead score, and Westfield defeated Klein Collins 41-38 in a Region II-6A Division I area playoff game Friday night at Tomball ISD Stadium.

“Klein Collins is one of those blue blood programs, and they got a great coach, great kids,” Westfield coach Matt Meekins said. “They do a great job over there. It was a war.”

Westfield (11-1) advances to play Waxahachie in the regional semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hutto’s Memorial Stadium.
