With 14 years of industry experience, Realtor Derik Daniels with Greenwood King Properties recently shared these thoughts.
Q: What is your neighborhood/area of focus?
A: I focus on Inner Loop, close-in neighborhoods.
Q: Why did you decide on a career in real estate? What were your inspirations
(or who)?
A: Real estate is typically a career that just finds you. Few people aspire to be a Realtor during grade school and college. My mother had a keen interest in houses and we typically went to look at new-construction homes while on vacations. My uncle was a builder and I really enjoyed seeing his projects as a child. After moving to Houston and looking for a career change in my early 30s, I met many very successful Realtors and it really was a natural fit for me.
Q: How is the marketplace now and is it a good time to buy?
A: It’s always good time to buy in Houston. The market has been resilient in Houston; there’s always something to gain in the Houston market — I believe we will see a return on investment over the years.
Q: How would you describe your work ethic and skills that bring you success?
A: I enjoy what I do. I enjoy the people aspect of the business. I love working with builders/investors seeing projects come to fruition, workings with buyers and showcasing the city. I’ve always had a keen interest in Houston as a city and its rich history.
Q: What are some key ways you help your clients during the buying and
selling process?
A: I have intricate knowledge of the city and the neighborhoods, within the Inner Loop and surrounding areas.
My extensive knowledge ranges from Galveston to The Woodlands to west Houston.
Q: How does your company support your sales process?
A: I am proud to be with an old-school, boutique firm, which is locally owned. This is now a rarity in Houston, and it enables the agent, the client, and the company to all a have an intricate relationship. The leadership is very involved, and the company provides generational knowledge of all the neighborhoods within the city.
