Local man among 6 killed in Dallas air show crash

-

A Montgomery County man and longtime pilot was identified as one of six people killed during a midair collision at a Dallas air show Saturday.

Craig Hutain of Montgomery was piloting the Bell P-63 Kingcobra fighter when it collided with a Boeing B-17 at the Commemorative Air Force Wings Over Dallas WWII Air Show, according to the organization. The other five men killed were aboard the B-17 Flying Fortress.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the collision, including why both aircraft were flying at the same altitude and in the same air space.
