Accused cop killer not guilty
Robert Soliz threw back his head in relief Tuesday as he was acquitted in the death of veteran Houston police Sgt. Sean Rios, making Soliz a rare example of an accused cop killer beating the charges against him.
His defense attorneys had argued that their client acted in self-defense in his decision to fatally shoot the off-duty lawman during a November 2020 road rage clash.
