John Esslinger was born on September 3, 1946 (along with his twin brother Josh) to Josh J. Esslinger, M.D. and Carole J. Harrison, M.D. in Columbus, Ohio but was raised along with 3 brothers in Beaumont, TX. After a very difficult year health wise John passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Houston, TX at the age of 76.

John spent his profession­al career working for natural gas pipelines and natural gas marketing companies and during that time was a member of several natural gas associatio­ns. He retired from corporate life after 29 years but continued to consult on several industry projects. He and his wife, Diana, met because of work and married on September 29, 1984. His true passions where golf, travel, hunting trips, cars, collecting wine and cooking. He was also a very loving uncle, friend and mentor to many.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diana; brothers Jeffrey Esslinger (Kathy) and Joe Esslinger (Donna); sister-in-law and brother-inlaw Sheila and Pete Guarrine; nieces Kelly Esslinger, Janean Lyon, Rebecca Guarrine (Devin Carrick) and Sarah Minns (Bryan); nephews Bruce Thelen (Ellen),

James Esslinger and Robert Esslinger (Teresha), and 5 grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Josh, grandparen­ts and aunt Johnny M. Harrison.

A funeral service and reception will be held

Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Texas Liberty Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Ted A. Campbell, United Methodist Church, Dallas, TX.

The family wishes to thank his great team of doctors and Houston Hospice for his care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made if desired to Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana (John was a former board member), Lupus Foundation of America Gulf Coast Chapter or your favorite charity.
