Preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus
We are called to prepare for the celebration of the birth of the Lord in the four weeks leading up to Christmas by observing the Advent season.
Traditionally, Advent is considered a time to slow down and prayerfully reflect on the meaning of the amazing gift of the Word of God taking on our flesh. This season of Advent can also serve as reminder of the sacrifice and joy of Mary and Joseph as they awaited the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visit www.archgh.org for updates and information from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston this Advent season and follow the Archdiocese on social media.
The official website of the Archdiocese offers a parish locator for those interested in attending Mass at a nearby Catholic Church throughout the Advent and Christmas seasons.
Join us as we prepare in joyful anticipation to celebrate the birth of Emmanuel — God with Us.
