JUAN MARTINEZ

Juan (John) Alberto Martinez, age 57, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully and with dignity on Friday, November 11, 2022.

John (to his coworkers/ friends and Johnny to us at home) was a soft-spoken, caring, sweet, kind, engaging, empathetic, cheery, spiritual son, brother, friend and coworker. We will miss his wonderful smile and dedication to and comfort for all, including his beloved canine companions over the years.

John was born on Father’s Day, June 20, 1965 in Kingsville, Texas. He grew up in Victoria, Texas, graduating Cum Laude from Victoria High School in 1983. He attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington before beginning his lengthy and stellar customer service career for EntexCenterpoint Energy and Amegy-Zions Bank, primarily here in Houston.

John is preceded in death by his father, Jose (Joe) Angel Martinez. John is survived by his dear mother Dolores Cortez Martinez of Houston and faithful brothers Jesus (Jess) Alonso Martinez of Houston, Jose (Joey) Tomas Martinez of Alexander, Arkansas, and Jaime (Jimmy) Martinez of Houston with beloved family member, Dwayne Whiddon.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, TX 77024. All are welcome! The Rite of Committal will follow Mass at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
