DIANE MALLEY

11/17/1957 - 11/15/2022

-

Diane Margaret Malley of Chicago, Illinois, Kansas City, Missouri and Houston, Texas passed away in Houston peacefully on Tuesday, the 15th of November 2022. She was 64 years of age. She met illness with dignity, grace, humor, and optimism.

Everyone loved Diane. She was genuine and authentic, never wallowed in her own worries but focused on helping others and living life to the fullest. She cared deeply for family and friends, and always seemed to share the right combination of listening, empathy, and edgy advice. She found the joy in life and a solution for every problem.

Diane was a loving wife and a wonderful companion who created a home wherever we moved. She was a fierce mother and devoted hours and energy to our children and their schools. She was also a dear friend - no one had more friends than Diane. She is loved and missed.

Diane is preceded in passing by her father, Jack. She is survived by her husband, Joe Gocke; sons, Max and Charlie; daughter, Annie; her mother, Jane; her sisters, Denise (Dennis), Maureen (Carey) and Kathy (Mark); and her brother John (Sue). She was loved by many nieces.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 8th of December, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

The Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at one o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 9th of December, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road in Houston, where the Pastor, Rev. David Zapalac is to celebrate.

Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception at a venue to be announced during the services.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Diane’s honor be directed to the National Brain Tumor Society: nbtsevents.braintumor.org/DianeMalley

A faithful friend is a sure true shelter, whoever finds one has found a rare treasure.

A faithful friend is something beyond price, there is no measuring its worth.

A faithful friend is the elixir of life.
