Davis’ TD leads North Shore rout
Jacoby Davis remembered the last time when North Shore played Atascocita he gave up too many plays at cornerback for the Mustangs.
Davis wanted to make sure in the rematch against the Eagles that no ball got passed him.
Davis had a 15-yard interception returned for a touchdown as North Shore rolled past Atascocita 38-7 in a Region III-6A Class 6A Division I state quarterfinals game Friday night at Randall Reed Stadium.
“Preparation led to that,” said Davis on the interception. “I just seen the lineup was in and I just played my man. I was just thinking about making a play for the team. But it felt real good and I can’t complain.”
The Mustangs (14-0) advance to the state semifinals for the fifth straight season and win their sixth straight game against the Eagles. North Shore will play the winner of Saturday’s game between San Antonio Brennan and Austin Westlake.
