Morgan Wallen, the country star who was briefly shunned by the music industry for use of a racial slur, is coming to Houston.

He’ll perform May 26 at Minute Maid Park. Tickets go on sale Dec. 9 through Wallen’s official site. He’ll be joined in Houston by openers Hardy, Ernest and Bailey Zimmerman.

A Verified Fan presale is open through Dec. 4. The presale starts Dec. 7, and you must have a code to participate.

Wallen came under fire in early 2021 when a video surfaced of him using a racial slur. He apologized but was swiftly dropped from country radio and banned from award shows. Despite, or because of, the controversy, Wallen’s popularity surged dramatically. His “Dangerous: The Double Album” holds the record for most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. The following year, he won the Academy of Country Music award for album of the year

Wallen was booted from a “Saturday Night Live” performance in October 2020 after video emerged of him attending a party and not adhering to COVID-19 protocols. Two months later, “SNL” had him on the show to perform and poke fun at the controversy.
