07/30/1928 - 12/04/2022

-

Therese Ann “Terry” Muschalik of Houston, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother “Nana” and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and extended family on Sunday, the 4th of December 2022,

following a brief illness. She was 94 years of age. Terry was a devoted Christian whom the family takes great comfort

and confidence in knowing that she is with her savior Jesus Christ.

Terry was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on the 30th of July 1928, to Homer and Ellen “Nellie” Hodel. She graduated from Saint John’s Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana and after graduating high school obtained further education in nursing.

While in Indianapolis,

Terry met the love of her life, Dan Muschalik, to whom she was married to for over 62 years. With Dan working for Exxon, Terry established homes in New Jersey and Connecticut before settling in Houston during the late 1960’s. Terry had a volunteer’s heart and was a longtime patron of the Junior League of Houston, a member of The Charity Guild of Houston, Catholic Daughters, as well as the Theresian Fifth Dimension.

Terry was a woman of great faith, had many talents and interests, and was known for her pearls of wisdom, quick wit, sense of humor, as well as a listening ear. Terry loved extended vacations with her husband in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; having a glass of chardonnay with friends, family and neighbors; dancing; discussing current events; and watching classic movies or reading. Terry’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she was always interested in whatever activity they were involved in. She was her family’s greatest cheerleader, counselor, confidant and prayer warrior. Terry felt one of her greatest achievements was leading her husband and children to Christ.

Terry was preceded in death by her husband Dan; her three sisters, Rosemary Goodin, Rita Worden, and Dorothy Frame; and her son-in-law, E. Lynn Grisell III. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, as well as ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Daughter, Judy Grisell; grandchildren, Matt and wife Lindsay and their children Madison and West, Meghan Johnson and husband Hunter and their son William; daughter Elaine Wertheimer and husband Mark; grandchildren Emma, and Chris Wertheimer and his wife Bree; son Dan Muschalik and his wife Rhonda; grandson Reid and his wife Courtney and their son

Julian; Jim Muschalik and his wife Monica; grandchildren Katherine, Madeline, Matthew, and Luke; John Muschalik and his wife Sharon, granddaughter Stephanie. Additionally, Terry is survived by her sister-in-law Linda Cecchini of Toms River, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Gabriel Oladimeji and Sandy Champion Saverese for their loving, compassionate, and devoted care of Terry over the past several years. The family also wishes to give special thanks to Rocky Rickel and Deborah Straughan for being such incredible neighbors and friends to their mom. In addition, the family wishes to thank Pam Brooks and Elsa Arauz for their kindness and care with Terry. Finally, the family would like to thank Colleen Bryce for her pastoral care and frequent visits with their mom.
