Joseph Allen Vitela, age 35, of Cypress, TX passed away Wednesday, November 30th in Charlotte, NC.

Joseph was born to Johnny and Neva on October 18,

1987, in Houston, TX. As a one month old he was adopted by loving parents Santos R. Vitela and Yolanda E Castillo-Vitela.

He is survived by: Mother, Yolanda E. Castillo Vitela, Sisters, Margaret (Jonathan), Mallory (Martin) and Rina (Jorge). He also leaves to cherish his memory many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by Santos R. Vitela, (Father), Della G. Vitela, (Grandmothe­r), Adelaide D. Castillo, (Grandmothe­r), and Duane S. Brooks, (Mentor).

Joseph attended Matze Elementary, Bleyl Jr High and Cy-Creek High School. He enjoyed drawing, painting, listening to music and playing video games. He was a Boy Scout and Indian Guide. He and his father loved fast cars and were always together looking for good deals. They were two peas in a pod.

Joseph had a dynamic personalit­y and an unbelievab­le sense of humor. Because he was an artist he was also a free spirit. He may be gone but he lives in our hearts, minds and memories and will never be forgotten. He will always be known as NuNu or The NUKE to the family.

Visitation is scheduled Sunday, December 11th from 5pm to 9pm. The Burial Service is scheduled Monday, December 12th at 11am at Forest Park Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Funeral Home. Gregory Gower will officiate the ceremony. The family would also like to thank Tommy O’Reilly and his mother, Katherine for all their moral support of Joseph in NC.
