Sarah Martha Branard Lemon, 98, of Webster, TX passed away peacefully Saturday, December 14, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Lemon was born on November 7, 1924, in Houston, TX, daughter of Henry House Branard and Edna Fannie Peters Branard. She is a direct descendant of Thomas William House, prominent Houston businessma­n and civic leader who arrived in Houston in 1837. Mrs. Lemon was a 1942 graduate of San Jacinto High School where she was student body Vice President. She married the love of her life, Glen Thomas Lemon, on September 30, 1944, in Houston, TX. She was a member of First Colony Bible Chapel and Plymouth Brethren Bible Chapels in Houston.

Mrs. Lemon worked for Pasadena School District as a librarian and administra­tor before retiring and serving as a volunteer for Woman’s Hospital of Texas and MD Anderson Hospital. She was a Daughter of the Republic of Texas.

Mrs. Lemon was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Thomas Lemon, daughter Barbara Lemon Phillips, sisters Julia Elizabeth Branard Smith, Mary Jane Branard Cunningham, and Edna Isabelle Branard Bowman. She is survived by daughters, Bette Haynes, Oakdale, CA, Jeanne Hasty (Chuck), Columbus, GA, 4 grandchild­ren Chad Phillips (Christy) Rachel Thompson (Brian), Pasadena, TX, Abigail and Ruth Anne Hasty, Charlotte, NC, and 5 great-grandchild­ren Kiley and Kori Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Joe, and Brookelynn Thompson.

Funeral service and interment will be Tuesday, December 20th at 11:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy., Webster, TX. Rev. Charles R. Hasty, Jr. will officiate. Pallbearer­s are Tim Phillips, Chad Phillips, Brian Thompson, Nathan Phillips, and Joe Thompson. Visitation will be at Forest Park December 20th, 10:00 – 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Presbyteri­an Church, ECO, 7211 Britton Dr., Columbus, GA 31904.

The family would like to thank IPR Home Health and Hospice Services and the Director and staff of Heartis Clear Lake City Sr. Living.

Sarah’s family and friends are blessed by her life and enduring witness to Jesus Christ.
