AGNES WEEREN CARLSON
08/16/1928 - 11/18/2022
Agnes Winifred Beaumier Weeren Carlson 94 of Houston went home to be with the Lord. She passed away at her home on November 18, 2022 from natural causes.
Agnes was born and raised in Brenham, Texas to Ida and Raymond Sidney Beaumier. She graduated high school in Brenham and attended Blinn College. Agnes worked briefly at Dobert’s Ready-To-Wear Clothing store in Brenham. In the early 1950’s she moved to Houston, accepting a job at Tennessee Gas, and being an elegant woman, modeled part-time. She met Milo Weeren on a blind date and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1952 until Milo’s death in 1989. They had no children together but Agnes remained close to Milo’s daughter Lana from his previous marriage. A great team was created as Agnes developed a career in real estate along the FM 1960 area with Milo’s career in financial services. They moved to Champions Golf Club in the late 60’s, playing golf, traveling the world and living life to the fullest.
Agnes married Charles (Chuck) Carlson, a dear friend in 1997. They also shared their lives in the Champions area with all of their wonderful friends. Family time and traveling was a large part of their time together, they enjoyed each other to the fullest every day. During their marriage, Agnes developed a loving relationship with Chuck’s daughter-in-law Yvette, and his granddaughter Christina. Chuck passed away in 2007.
Agnes dearly cared for her friends, she loved going to visit family, when they came to visit her, she was elated. Birthdays and holidays were a special treat for her. Her calendar was full as she was always planning an event, a trip, or some kind of adventure. She had a zest for life and nothing could stop her even as she experienced setbacks from cancer and heart disease. Agnes played a mean game of golf and an even meaner game of gin rummy with her girls (as she called them).
Agnes was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, enjoying her Sunday school class and worship. She spearheaded the endowment fund for the church with her time and contributions; she also helped purchase the church chimes and a park bench for the community walking path behind the church.
She supported the Hope Center, Teen Center, NAM, Pearl Museum, Camp Hope, Centrum Art League, ARK Group, and John Wesley United Methodist Church.
We will truly miss our dear mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was our beloved queen, advisor and best listener. She was a true southern lady with a big heart and the best Texas accent you have ever heard.
She is predeceased by her parents and brother Wilburn Sidney Beaumier Sr. Her survivors include her nephew Wilburn Sidney (Sid) Beaumier Jr. (Cheryl); great nephew Ross Reeder Beaumier (Erin), and great niece Rainey Rochelle Beaumier; daughter Lana Weeren Plunkett (Don); grandchildren Cindy Plunkett Bailey (Russell), Robin Plunkett Cuellar (Jesse), Sheri Plunkett Miles (Scott), Clay Plunkett (Erin), Christina Carlson, and Leslie Weeren; great-grandchildren Emily Miles Eberle, Heather Bailey Falls, Rachael Bailey Carter, Kathryn Miles Altom, Kirby Cuellar and Hadison Plunkett; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 5830 Bermuda Dunes Dr., Houston, TX 77069.
