JAMES “JAMIE” WOOLSEY ROBERTSON

08/06/1942 - 12/27/2022

-

James Woolsey “Jamie” Robertson, age 80, was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He died peacefully at home on December 27,2022 after a heroic battle fighting multiple myeloma.

Jamie was born August 6, 1942 in Fort Sam Houston, Texas to R.C.L. and

Marjorie Robertson. He married the love of his life, Laura Ann Koons, which resulted in 30 years of a sublime marriage.

Entirely dedicated to his family and relatives, Jamie was compassionate, generous, patient and always willing to help those in need.

In addition to practicing law, he very much enjoyed traveling, ranching, reading and fly fishing, especially under the blue skies of Montana. Sharing his love and wisdom, every day spent with Jamie was exceptional.

Jamie graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He then honorably served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Lieutenant Commander.

Post service, Jamie joined Liddell, Sapp, Zivley & Brown (now Locke Lord LLP) in 1973. He firmly believed in doing what was ethical and honest. Reflective of Jamie’s extraordinary talents, he was listed in Best Lawyers in America for more than 20 years, and named each year since 2003 as a real estate “Super Lawyer”, by Texas Monthly magazine, and for several years as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (real estate law) in Chambers USA, The Client’s Guide. He was AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review

Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Jamie practiced law until his death, which reflected his intelligence, dedication and passion for the profession.

Jamie is survived by his wife, Laura, his son William and wife, Amy along with their children, Levi and Noa, brother Robert Robertson and wife Nancy and children, Lisa, Sterling, Kate, Laura, Robbie and Jenny, his

special niece, Laura Pederson and her husband, Ross and children, Bryan, Kayleigh and James, his “buddy” Maureen Dexter, brotherin-law Raymond Koons and numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, R.C.L. and Marjorie Robertson.

As this announcement is being written, nature appears slightly muted as Jamie’s presence and bright demeanor no longer physically exist. His steady and calm voice, warm and welcoming personality will be greatly missed — I am grateful to have known Jamie and have him as my friend.

“...And he will make the face of Heaven so fine

That all the world will be in love with night

And pay no worship to the garish sun.” -Shakespeare

A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston, Texas at 2:00 pm on January 5, 2023 — the service will be live-streamed at https:// stmartinsep In lieu of flowers, Jamie can be honored by making contributions to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
