HomeAid completes Leslie King Project
HomeAid Houston, a 501(c)(3) charity of the Greater Houston Builders Association, is dedicated to helping people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.
In December, HomeAid undertook a special HomeAid Cares renovation project for nonprofit Krause Children’s Center. A complete revamping of their bathroom honors a legend in the GHBA, Leslie King, founder of Greymark Construction Co. and who was one of the GHBA’s first female presidents and first female remodeler.
King also led the HomeAid Care Program efforts for several years, spearheading many of the charity remodeling projects.
King had a gift for creating beautiful environments. This namesake project which will be memorialized by a plaque.
The Leslie King project is HomeAid’s third remodeling project for Krause Children’s Center, a residential treatment program of Upbring. Partnering with HomeAid for this project are Allen Gryphon with Gryphon Builders and Jeff Hunt with Jeff Hunt Construction, who gave of their time, talents, and materials to complete the project at 100% savings to the agency.
Simultaneously, HomeAid and Builder Captain Jesse Jusenius with New Patio Inc. have completed the fourth HomeAid Cares project for Krause by creating a new patio, complete with built-in benches. HomeAid and New Patio
Inc. also completed this project at 100% savings to the agency.
