Dr. J. Jorge Garcia Beaujean of Houston, Texas, was born in Mexico City, Mexico on February 2nd, 1930 To Jose Garcia Estrada and Eloisa Beaujean Ruiz.

Dr. Garcia attended the Universida­d Nacional Autónoma de Mexico where he graduated as a Medico Cirujano (Medical Surgeon) in 1962. He then went on to attend Baylor College of Medicine for his Pediatric specializa­tion and Residency, graduating in 1966. That same year he also became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. In 1967 he would become

Board Certified with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. In 1968 he would go on to become a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, as well as a Fellow, elected by the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 1969 Dr. Garcia would become the

Founder of Memorial Pediatrics. He earned the Physician’s Recognitio­n Award from the American Medical Associatio­n in

1988. He was recognized as an Outstandin­g Educator for Stratford and Memorial High School Interns from the years 1999-2000. He was a Dedicated Fellow for 50 years of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Garcia was a life-long automotive enthusiast and graduated from the Bob Bondurant School of High Performanc­e Driving in 1980 and the British School of Motor Racing in 1982, as well as an Award-Winning driver of the Mercedes Benz Club of America, where he competed across the country into his eighties.

Dr. Garcia attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Alejando and Alfonso Garcia, as well as his son, Gustavo Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Celia Huitzil Garcia, his children, Jorge Garcia Jr., Patricia Lehtola, Alex Beaujean, Carlos Garcia, Robert Beaujean, as well as his siblings, Rosa Alicia Garcia Beaujean and Guadalupe Garcia Beaujean. He is also survived by his grandchild­ren; Patia Waddle, Talya Saucedo, Jarred Beaujean; Carl, Lila and Nicole Lehtola; Chase and Nicolas Beaujean; Carina, Carla, and Carlos Garcia II; and Robert Beaujean, in addition to his great grandchild­ren; Noemi Saucedo, and Izzy and Kyte Collins.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm, in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10:30 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, TX 77024. The Rite of Committal will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. With a reception to follow in the Event Room at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079
