Delphine Angle “Del”

Dodd, beloved wife, mother, and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, the 23rd of December 2022, in Houston. She was 86 years of age.

Del was raised in Nacogdoche­s, graduated from North Texas State University, spent many years as an educator, and ultimately was a very accomplish­ed realtor with Greenwood King Organizati­on.

Del was an active member of Memorial Drive Presbyteri­an Church for 60 years and was an active member of her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, The Assistance League of Houston, Houston Junior Forum, the Houston Heritage Society, and many other servicerel­ated organizati­ons.

She was a devoted Christian servant, was a trusted advisor to many and was an instant friend of those that she met during her life journey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James

Robert Dodd, Sr.; and her brothers, John and Donald Angle.

She is survived by her son, James Robert “Bobby” Dodd, Jr.; her daughter, Rebecca Dodd Hixson; her daughter in law, Beth Dodd; and sonin-law, Grant Hixson, whom she thought of as her third and fourth children. Del is also survived by her brother, Joe Angle; and sisters-in-law, Judy Angle and Muriel Dodd; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon to seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 11th of January, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

A memorial service is to be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 12th of January, in the Chapel of Memorial Drive Presbyteri­an Church, 11612 Memorial Drive in Houston, where Rev. Alf Halvorsen is to officiate.

Immediatel­y following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the nearby parlor.
