LUCIEN MINOR WARNER JR.

12/14/1933 - 01/03/2023

-

Lucien Minor Warner (Lu) passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 3 at his residence in Carefree, Arizona.

Lu held an unshakeable, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior. For him, Jesus was the issue in every life. His prayer was that each would have the peace, strength, and joy that comes only from faith in Jesus.

Lu was born on December 14, 1933 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Dr. Lucien and Jessamy Warner. After spending his childhood and early adult years in Houston, Lu attended the University of Texas at Austin, joining the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Lu moved to Tucson, Arizona in January, 1960. There, Lu met the love of his life, Fae.

After a successful banking career, Lu transitioned to senior financial roles in real estate development first at the WR Schulz Co. and then at Westcor. At Westcor, Lu joined Rusty Lyon and a group of other talented partners to create one of the largest and most successful real estate development companies in Arizona. Innovative Westcor projects such as Scottsdale Fashion Square, Arrowhead Town Center, Chandler Fashion Square and the Boulders Resort helped shape the modern Phoenix landscape.

Westcor’s growth and success was in no small part enabled by the pioneering financial strategies that Lu implemented.

Lu was a very generous, kind-hearted man, highly respected by all who knew him. A lifelong golfer, Lu played golf up until six months prior to his passing.

Lu is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 58 years, Fae, his three children, his son, David (Elizabeth), daughters Sharon Roelke (Dave) and Cathi Herrod (Mike), eight grandchildren, and many other family members. And let’s not forget his much-loved dogs Abby, Betsy Ross, and Jake.

The family has celebrated Lu’s life with a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mercy Ships International, P.O. Box 2020 Garden Valley Texas 75771 www.mercyships. org or Teen Challenge of Arizona, P.O. Box 5966 Tucson, AZ 85703 www.tcaz.org
