Texas rallies in second half to edge Tech

AUSTIN — Marcus Carr scored 20 points, Sir'Jabari Rice added 18 and No. 10 Texas rallied again in the second half Saturday night to beat Texas Tech 72-70, snapping the Red Raiders' four-game win streak on the Longhorns' home court.

Carr's off-balance 3pointer to beat the shot clock early in the second half started a 20-4 Texas run that pulled the Longhorns out of a 10-point deficit. Texas had rallied from 18 down against TCU a few days earlier, the program's biggest comeback victory in a decade.

Brock Cunningham's 3-pointer with 1:09 to play put Texas ahead 63-58 and Timmy Allen followed with a three-point play. Rice, whose 3-pointer pulled Texas even in the rally, combined with Carr to make four three throws over the final 15 seconds to close out the victory.

Allen scored 17 for the Longhorns (15-2, 4-1 Big 12).

Pop Issacs scored 23 points to lead Texas Tech (10-7), which fell to 0-5 in conference play for the first time since 2015.

NO. 17 TCU 82 KANSAS STATE 68

Emanuel Miller scored 23 points, Eddie Lampkin Jr. had a season-high 17 and the Horned Frogs ended the Wildcats' ninegame winning streak. Mike Miles Jr. had a double-double with 13 points with 11 assists for TCU (14-3, 3-2 Big 12). Keyontae Johnson had 18 for Kansas State (15-2, 4-1).

TEXAS A&M 94 SOUTH CAROLINA 53

Wade Taylor IV knocked down 8 of his 10 shots from the field, with his only misses coming from behind the 3-point arc, where he was 4 of 6, and the Aggies led wireto-wire for their sixth straight win in a rout of the Gamecocks at Columbia, S.C.

Taylor finished with 20 points to lead Texas

A&M (12-5, 4-0 Southeaste­rn Conference). Julius Marble and Dexter Dennis added 14 and 13 points, respective­ly.

Zachary Davis had 13 points to lead South Carolina (8-9, 1-3).

ALCORN ST. 79 TEXAS SOUTHERN 74 (OT)

Dominic Brewton hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime and finished with 26 points to lead the Braves over the host Tigers.

Brewton had three steals for Alcorn State (6-10, 3-1 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference).

PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 59 JACKSON ST. 50

Yahuza Rasas and Hegel Augustin scored 18 points apiece as the Panthers won at home.

Rasas added 17 rebounds for Prairie View A&M (7-11, 3-2 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference).

Jackson State (4-13, 3-1) was led by Ken Evans, who finished with 14 points.

BAYLOR 74 OKLAHOMA ST. 58

LJ Cryer scored 16 points with four 3-pointers and the Bears ended a three-game skid with a win over the Cowboys at Waco.

Baylor mostly had Oklahoma State in the dark well before a 20minute power failure at Ferrell Center in the second half stopped play.

Baylor (12-5, 2-3 Big 12) built a 13-0 lead with help of a pair of 3-pointers from Cryer. Oklahoma State (9-8, 1-4) didn't score until Avery Anderson III made a layup four-and-ahalf minutes in.

HOUSTON CHRISTIAN 90 MCNEESE 81

Brycen Long scored a game-high 32 points and hit seven three-pointers, and Bonke Maring added 26 as the Huskies won at Lake Charles, La.

Long added five rebounds for Houston Christian (6-12, 3-2 Southland Conference). Maks Klanjscek recorded 13 points and was 4-of-11 shooting .

SOUTHERN UTAH 67 STEPHEN F. AUSTIN 58

Maizen Fausett's 19 points helped the Thunderbir­ds to a victory at Cedar Valley Utah.

AJ Cajuste finished with 11 points for the Lumberjack­s (13-6, 5-1).
