BEHRMAN, Charles Thomas (Tom)

Tom Behrman, 75, passed away December 6, 2022. He was born on February 27,

1947 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston to Robert Goodall Behrman, Jr. and Genevieve Hanner Behrman. Tom was a native Houstonian, a 5th generation Texan. He attended Grady Elementary, Lanier Jr. High, and the new T.H. Rogers Jr. High and was in the entering class of the new Robert E. Lee HS in Houston where he loved playing football for the Generals. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and majored in history, graduating with honors and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He was a member of the Tejas Club at The University of Texas. He graduated from UT Law School. He was a lawyer’s lawyer, practicing civil litigation in Houston and around the state for 50 years until his retirement in 2022. He was devoted to lifelong learning, earning his Master of Liberal Studies degree from Rice University in 2018 at the age of 71. He is a Past Master of Holland Lodge #1, AF&AM, a past DDGM, and a Life Member of Jacques DeMolay Lodge #1390. Tom was an avid sports fan, having played sports in his youth, including football, basketball, and baseball. He relished coaching his children’s FFPS and YMCA soccer teams in their youth and was an ardent NY Ranger hockey fan. He also closely followed UT Longhorn and Rice Owl’s football. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle, and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy, his daughter, Melanie Ann Conner (Zack), Costa Mesa, California, and his son, Thomas Lewis Behrman (Amy) of Houston and his grandson Lewis Howard Behrman, and granddaugh­ters, Violet Lane Behrman, and Sydney Alison Behrman of Houston, along with his brother, John Robert Behrman, Houston, and sister, Susan Behrman Riley (Brian), Houston, and numerous other nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Memorial service will be held at Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200 Willowbend Blvd, Houston, TX 77096, on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00am.
