BARBARA LOUISE FRISON

On January 25, 2023, Barbara went home to Jesus with her loving husband of 65 years, Paul Frison, by her side. She joined a great cloud of witnesses including her parents, Gilda and Paul Hoshaw; brother and sister-in-law,

Bob and Ursula Hoshaw; and grandson, Christian David Elders.

She was born in Glendale, California on October 24, 1935. She grew up in Southern California.

She met Paul Frison in their Junior High drama class. Barbara was a phenomenal pianist and she won speech contests in the 1940’s. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in music education.

Paul and Barbara were married on December 21, 1957, in Glendale, CA. In the next few years, Paul and Barbara had two girls: Maryanne and Jill.

She supported Paul’s career in every way, including moving all over the world. They lived in Philadelph­ia PA, Ontario Canada, Brussels Belgium, Chicago IL and since 1975, Houston Texas. She was an A tennis player and very active with her church and family.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Paul Frison; daughters, Maryanne Elders and Jill Cortez; son-in-law, Phillip Elders and Steve Cortez; as well as grandchild­ren, Matthew Elders, Laney Elders, Max Cortez, Jake Cortez and Sofie Cortez.

The family thanks Lily Yohannes and all the other care givers for the excellent loving care they gave Barbara for the past three years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation on Barbara’s behalf to Second Baptist Church of Houston where Barbara and Paul have been faithful members since 1988.

The Memorial service for Barbara Frison will be on Friday February 10 at 11am in the Hankamer Chapel at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Dr., Houston TX 77057, with a reception following in the Deacon’s Parlor at Second.

A private immediate family only graveside will occur in the days prior to the memorial.
