Q: What are your areas of focus?

A: Memorial, Memorial Villages, Tanglewood, Galleria Area, Afton Oaks/West Lane Place, River Oaks, and West University. I have been a Realtor over 30 years and am fortunate to have many repeat clients and referral clients. Many clients have become good friends through the years as I have worked with them and their family members. It is a very nice way to do business and to become well acquainted with numerous neighborhoods in Houston.

Q: Why did you decide on a career in real estate and what are some things you enjoy about it?

A: After an early career in human resources, I had honed many interactive skills in working with a variety of personalities and people, so I wanted to continue utilizing those skills. When I was ready to change careers, I looked at numerous possibilities and decided that I would do investment real estate. I also decided that I would have better access to the market if I had my license. During that time, one of the courses I took was a seminar on Real Estate Stars, which featured the owners of five of the top real estate companies in Houston. As I listened, I became fascinated with the possibilities and have been a practicing Realtor since that time. It has really been fun. I have met and worked with many lovely and interesting people and have felt very satisfied in helping find them the right home environment and successfully marketing their existing home. Most people choose homes that fit their lifestyle at a particular time in life. As their life changes, they are often ready for a home that suits their current needs.

Q: How do you describe your work ethic and skills that bring you success?

A: I set my priorities on client needs. I am available quickly by phone or text and will work the hours required to meet a client’s needs. Sometimes that means working long days or strange hours. Other times I have free time, so I can also take care of my personal business with ease. Over the course of a week I am able to maintain a satisfactory work/life balance.

Q: What are some of the ways you help your clients in the buying/ selling process?

A: I always focus on my clients and their priorities at the time. I maintain a calm demeanor and focus on problem solving for the situation. In many situations, buyers and sellers do not agree. I am an effective negotiator and work toward a solution that is acceptable for all parties.

Q: How is the market now and is it a good time to buy?

A: The market is moving into the active spring selling season, so activity is increasing and more properties are coming onto the market. It is an excellent time to buy when you find a property that meets most of your needs and can be modified to satisfy your lifestyle. A challenge that we have had recently is low inventory of available homes.

Q: Education/professional work and training:

A: I am a graduate of the University of Texas and did graduate-level work in human resources at the University of Houston/Clear Lake Campus. Basically, I am from a family of educators and consider myself a lifetime learner.

Q: Professional certifications:

A: Certified Negotiation Expert, Graduate Realtor Institute, Accredited Buyer’s Representation, and Certified Luxury Real Estate Expert.

Q: Industry or company awards:

A: I am a repeated Top Producer and have at various times been part of industry panel discussions. It is an honor to have been chosen as a Realtor profile.
