Beyoncé, Adele and Bad Bunny in position to make history
History is on the line at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
Major music stars, including Beyoncé and Bad Bunny, could set new milestones at Sunday’s ceremony, while wins by Adele in coveted categories would put her in elite company.
For the first time since 2020, the award show returns to its frequent home at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center.
The stage is set for a dramatic night with bigname performers and some of the industry’s top artists competing for song, record and album of the year.

How to watch
CBS and the Paramount+ streaming service will both air the ceremony live. It begins at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to run for three-and-ahalf hours.
A red carpet show, featuring the arrivals of nominees, performers and other stars, begins at 5 p.m. on E! Network.
Who is hosting?
The third time’s the charm for comedian Trevor Noah, who will host the Grammys for a third consecutive year.
The former “Daily Show” star’s previous gigs included 2021’s COVID-conscious show at the open-air Los Angeles Convention Center and last year’s ceremony at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Who is nominated?
Beyoncé leads all artists with nine nominations, including nods for all three of the night’s top honors. “Renaissance” is a finalist for album of the year and “Break My
Soul” is up for song and record of the year.
Queen Bey faces stiff competition from Adele, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar and Lizzo, who are each nominated in all three categories as well.
Adele, a 15-time Grammy winner, swept those categories in 2012 and
2017 on the strength of her previous two albums. Her latest, “30,” is nominated this year for album of year, while “Easy on Me” is up for song and record.
The other nominees for album of the year are Styles’ “Harry House”; Lizzo’s “Special”; Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti”; Lamar’s “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers”;
Mary J. Blige’s “Good Morning Gorgeous”; ABBA’s “Voyage”; Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres”; and Brandi Carlile’s “In These Silent Days.”
Who is performing?
Many of the nominees for album of the year are scheduled to perform, including Bad Bunny, Lizzo, Styles, Blige and Carlile.
Sam Smith and Kim Petras, whose pop collaboration “Unholy” was a No. 1 hit, are also set to take the stage, as are country artist Luke Combs and alternative R&B singer Steve Lacy.
Who can make history?
Beyoncé tied her husband, rapper Jay-Z, with the most Grammy nominations ever with 88.
Her 28 career wins are the most by a female artist. Should she rack up four wins Sunday, Beyoncé would break the overall record of 31 held by conductor Georg Solti.
The Puerto Ricanborn Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” would be the first Spanish-language project to win album of the year. It’s the first such album to be nominated in the category.
Adele would be the fourth artist to win a third album of the year trophy and the third to win record of the year three times, according to VegasInsider.com. She’s already the only artist to sweep song, record and album of the year more than once.
