Billy Floyd Manning went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2023. He passed away peacefully with family by his side. Billy was born in Dublin, TX in 1933 to Mark Doyle and Artie Faye Cole. He was their third child. He graduated from Hamilton High School and went on to Texas Christian University. After graduating from TCU Billy joined the Air Force where he served with the 98 Air Refueling Squadron in the Strategic Air Command and retired with the rank of Captain. Shortly after his discharge he met Barbara Rude on a blind date. She was the love of his life and they were married for 63 years. They lovingly raised three children. His work took the family to Houston, TX; Greenwich, Connecticu­t; Dallas, TX and San Antonio, TX where he retired as President and COO from Alamo Cement Co. He greatly enjoyed his time with Alamo Cement and all the people he worked with. In his time away from work he enjoyed taking the family out on the lake as well as golfing and bird hunting. After retirement he explored photograph­y and loved to travel, taking Barbara to many destinatio­ns abroad. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother MD Manning and sister Armena Faye Anderson. He is survived by his wife Barbara, children Susan Converse; Michael Manning and wife Tonya; Kathleen (Keely) Moerschell and husband Rob; six grandchild­ren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his nieces Peggy Anderson, Manette Scanio, Regina Ann Jackson, and many cousins. A small service will be held in Hamilton, TX on a later date.
