STELLAR FOOD, WINE AND BEER SERVED UP IN THE AREA

Local springtime festivals feature some of the most incredible bites and sips one could wish for when it comes to food, wine and beer.

On March 11 at Midtown Park at 2811 Travis St., the OMG Food Fest kicks off at 2 p.m. It is one of the area’s first hip-hop food festivals where visitors can enjoy some of the city’s best DJs and bands, games, as well as drinks, and tasty food that can range from tacos to boudin, to turkey legs and barbecue. On March 18, the Downtown Wine & Beer Walk will be serving up a good time in historic downtown Rosenberg starting at 12 p.m. on Avenue G.

Back by popular demand, Alvin is hosting the annual Bay Area Wine Festival at the Morgan Falls Event Center on March 18 as well. Texas barbecue lovers need to arrive very hungry for the 10th annual Houston Barbecue Festival on April 2, with all the local favorite barbecue joints presenting their best creations at the Humble Civic Center Arena Complex in Humble. Early ticket purchase is recommende­d.

A local favorite, the Katy Sip N Stroll returns on April 15. Benefiting The Ballard House, guests can relax, mingle and discover new wines, craft beer and culinary creations with artisan vendors.
