ASGi breaks ground on GHBA Benefit home in Conroe

-

Two American flags set the stage over the homesite where nearly one hundred guests gathered on March 1 to celebrate the official Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit Homes Project groundbreaking.

ASGi Homes hosted the festivities as a 2023 Benefit Homes builder. ASGi is constructing their Olivia plan in the new community of Williams East Reserve in Conroe. It is also the first home to be built in the neighborhood.

ASGi is donating construction management, and even before breaking ground, recruited their loyal vendors, suppliers and trades to donate over 100 percent of the cost of construction. The home will include amenities and features that are in demand by today’s smart home buyer.

The homesite was also donated by the community’s developer Ellison Development — part of the ASGi family of companies. Williams Reserve East is 46-home community.

Once the home is sold at market value, proceeds from the sale will benefit Operation Finally Home and HomeAid Houston. Special guests at the event included Commissioner Robert Walker, Montgomery County Precinct 1; Judge Wayne Mack, Justice of the Peace Precinct 1; Lieutenant Scott Spencer, Montgomery County Sheriff ’s Office and seven members from the Montgomery County Fire Department who arrived in a Montgomery County fire truck to help celebrate the launch of construction.

The groundbreaking ceremony was opened by Scott Merovitch, chairman of the Benefit Homes Project with additional remarks made by Aimee Bertrand, CEO of the GHBA; Bill Ellison, founder and president of ASGi

Homes; Craig Spriggs, purchasing director for ASGi Homes; Kendall McDermott, president of HomeAid Houston and Lee Kirgan, vice president of Operation Finally Home. Concluding the remarks was Colleen Ellison, co-owner and sales and marketing for ASGi.

“We are excited to have ASGi Homes as a part of this GHBA charity fundraiser,” said Merovitch. “They are a huge supporter of not just the GHBA, but the community as a whole. Their range of quality product and professionalism have helped make their brand popular among individuals and families looking for affordable housing at a lower rate to help break the cycle of renting an apartment. Today’s turnout was a testament to their vision and commitment to the community.”

“Serving the community remains our focus,” said Ellison. “We are energized when each of our buyers achieve homeownership. This project is a multiplier. We not only get to put a family into our newest community, Williams Reserve East, but the proceeds will go to help many more. We are grateful to the GHBA for thinking of us for this worthy cause.”

ASGi’s Olivia floor plan is a one-story, 1,932-square-foot design with three bedrooms, two full baths, an open-concept common area and a study that could flex to a fourth bedroom. The home will feature tile flooring, granite countertops, 42-inch cabinets, a kitchen island and 9-foot ceilings. The home will also have a three-car garage.

Williams Reserve East is along FM 1484 east of Bowder Traylor Road. ASGi Homes is the exclusive builder in the community, offering nine floor plans for homesites that are three-quarter acre or larger. Pricing is from the $270,000s, and floor plans range from 1,200 to 2,374 square feet.

Since the Benefit Homes Project began 43 years ago, approximately $13M has been raised and 115 homes have been built.
