Benjamin (Ben) Guzzetta, 83, of Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 15, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Ben was a native Houstonian, attended Jefferson Davis High School, and graduated from the University of Houston.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Bessie Guzzetta. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Madelon Guzzetta, daughters Lisa Eck and husband Michael, Annette Muti and husband Kevin, and Laura Guzzetta and Stephen Wald. Grandchild­ren Andrea

Eck, David Eck and Chani Crawford, and great granddaugh­ter Winter Eck. Ben is also survived by his sisters Antoinette Harrison and her children Michelle and James; Jo Marie Crim and her children Raymond, Deborah, David and William.

Ben’s career began in the family’s grocery business. He then went on to pursue a career in computer programmin­g for Fleming Foods, and from there he worked for a major contractor on one of the early Nasa Apollo 11 Lunar projects. He was so proud of his time as a member of that team. He also spent many years with MBTI, where he held several positions, and was influentia­l in many students’ education in the IT field. Ben was a pioneer in the IT staffing industry for several years when he launched AccuTech Internatio­nal, Inc. He merged with Robert Half Internatio­nal, and continued to build the IT staffing name throughout the US and Canada.

Ben was an avid Ford Mustang enthusiast, along with his daughter Laura, who helped him participat­e in many auto shows. He won and placed in several categories.

Ben and Madelon were the long time owners of Champions Lighting for over 4 decades. He was most noted for developing a fine craft for creating custom lamps and restoring antique lighting.

His real passion was working with all of his wonderful customers. It gave him so much pleasure to know he helped so many people with their restoratio­n and repair needs over the years.

Visitation Wednesday, March 22, 3:00pm to 7:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Spring TX. Rosary to be recited at 6:30.

Funeral Mass Thursday, March 23, 10:00 am at Prince of Peace, 19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston, TX Burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery
