-

Brent T Johnson of Houston entered Heaven’s gates on March 4, 2023. He was born in Hollywood, California on March 24, 1937. After graduating from Wheaton College in 1958 Brent joined staff with Young Life, eventually moving to Houston in 1966 to start Young Life at Memorial High School. Brent led hundreds of Young Life club meetings and took bus loads of kids to camp over the next decade. There are countless high school students who heard the Gospel for the first time and began a relationship with Jesus as a result of his ministry.

Brent enjoyed multiple careers and thrived in any area that involved talking to strangers. He was a taxi driver, travel agent, and ultimately a financial advisor. He served on the board of directors for New Directions halfway house, mentored youth offenders through ReVision, assisted ex-offenders in securing long term employment through WorkFaith Connections, and mentored inmates during their incarceration through Prison Fellowship.

In addition to his children: Steve, Susan, Tyler and Kristen, Brent is survived by several grandchildren: Emily, Isaac, Benji, Noah, Rachel, Matthew, Morgan, Travis and Nate. In late December, Brent was able to meet and hold his first great grandchild, Nora Rae Johnson. On the day he passed away Brent was able to be held in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.

The family is planning a memorial service for Tuesday, March 21st at 2 p.m. in

Christ Chapel at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church located at 717 Sage Rd., Houston, TX
