June Kathleen Von Miller Voigt, 81, of Houston, died March 20, 2023. June was born August 24, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri to Corwin and Winifred (Stock) Von Miller and grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri. June was a devoted wife and mother. While attending high school at Ursuline Academy in Galveston, she was set up on a blind date with Roland Lawrence Voigt, and from that moment on they were inseparabl­e. They married in 1963 and celebrated 57 years together.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Lawrence Voigt. She is survived by daughters, Wanda Voigt and Martha Voigt; grandchild­ren, Jay, Kyle and Kera Palacios; sister-in-law and brother-inlaw Susan Voigt Longo and Anthony Longo; sister-inlaw Carol Voigt Strelec; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

June attended nursing school while living in Jacksonvil­le, Florida, and graduated with a degree in Nursing. After returning to Houston, she worked at Memorial Hermann Hospital as an operating room nurse. However, her most notable and most enduring profession was being the caring mother of two daughters. Devout Catholic, avid reader, savvy bridge player, enthusiast­ic golfer, and skillful seamstress and knitter are just a few of the ways June found joy in her life. She loved traveling with her husband, daughters, grandchild­ren, and friends. Additional­ly, she loved her lunch outings with her girlfriend­s, The Lunch Bunch. June was devoted to her family and never missed an opportunit­y to attend her grandchild­ren’s activities.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March

30, 2023, at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersvi­lle, Texas.
