Bill was born at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas on July 21, 1923-a native Texan.

His father was killed in an airplane accident in 1929when Bill was six- and he was raised in several places – a ranch in West Texas and later in Groesbeck, Texas where he graduated High School.

The WW2 years (43-46) were spent in the Army

Air Corps, primarily in the Philippine­s. Following this, he returned to Texas A&M, graduating as a Mechanical Engineer in 1947.

The next 39 years were spent with the Humble Oil/ Exxon family in Baytown, New York, and Houston.

He held leadership positions in a number of other organizati­ons i.e. Little League Baseball, The American Petroleum Institute, Society of Profession­al Chemists and Engineers, St. Francis Episcopal Church, Pine Forest Country Club and the Memorial Forest Club.

He was a tennis player during the ‘70s and played golf for about 19 years having 3 Holes-In-One. He lived at the Buckingham for the past 13 years.

He and his wife, Gladys, (deceased) were married for 67 years. They had two children, Suzanne and Bill, who live in the Houston area.

Bill died on March 18, 2023 at age 99.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay, Houston Texas at 11am on April 14.
