PAM MOORE BARRON
07/03/1942 - 03/30/2023
Pam Moore Barron died surrounded by family on Thursday, March 30, in Houston, Texas, of cancer.
At her 80th birthday in July 2022, Pam delighted in an outpouring of love from family and friends whom she had cherished, comforted and encouraged, each in their own particular way, throughout their lives. Pam’s life was full of achievement—summa cum laude graduate of North Texas, Masters in History and JD from University of Houston, TV’s “History Lady,” career in law as attorney, professor, and corporate counsel, short story writer published alongside Isabel Allende and Margaret Atwood, mystery novelist “McNary Lynch,”—but she will be best remembered for her gifts of sustaining care and support. These will shine on through the lives of her beloveds.
Married to Edward “Ed” Barron for sixty-one years, their partnership in love has been the foundation of a close family, including daughter, Kim Barron Hutson, and her sons, Jackson and Max; son, Jack Barron, his wife, Jen Turner, and his son, Dash; Pam’s siblings, Suzanne Morgan, Judy Bohardt, Michael Moore, William S. Moore, and James L. Moore. Pam’s friends felt her love in the poetry she shared, the books she recommended, the conversation, the quiet humor, the many memories of time well-spent together. She leaves a legacy of kindness.
A celebration of the love and encouragement that were the hallmarks of her life will be held at The Houston Arboretum, 120 West Loop entrance, at the Lily Pond on Sunday, May 7th 1:30-2:30. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the animal rescue organization, Rescue Texas (http://Rescuetexas. org) or the bird rescue organization, The Cornell Lab of Ornithology (www.birds. cornell.edu).
