Bob, age 88, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Born in Salina, Kansas to parents Gilbert Emerson and Margaret Mulloy Baxendale February 27, 1935 (along with twin Rita).

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bernadine Pianalto, Brother James (Jim) Baxendale and nephew Michael Baxendale.

Bob is survived by wife Jo Ann, twin sister Rita, sons, John R. Baxendale Jr. (Nicola), Brian Baxendale, and Daughter, Haley Ann Boze (Mike), & Grandchild­ren, Blake Boze (Lilli), Bronson Boze, Jessica Seal (Charlie), Emma Rice (Zane), Ethan Weems, and great grandchild, Cameron David Seal. Extended family members, Paula King, R.W. King Jr. and Glenda Alvarez.

His nieces, Holly Rachwal (Bob), Carri Baxendale, Donna Heck (Fred) & his nephews, Mark Baxendale, Thomas Graves, James (Jim Jr.) Baxendale (Joanne), and Greg Pianalto (Sveta). Special Mention: Preceded in death, his beloved uncle John and his telephone pal & cousin Mary Roesner, they talked about farming and any local or national Kansas sports team!

Bob attended Sacred Heart Cathedral grade school and Sacred Heart Cathedral High School in Salina, Kansas.

As a young boy, he worked with his father in the watch and clock repair business and farming with his uncle John. He attended Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kansas.

Bob worked at Western Electric, AT&T, and various jobs in the telephone industry.

After retirement, Bob’s favorite hobbies included repairing antique clocks & doing electrical projects around the house, but mostly spending time with wife and family.

Private interment to be held by the family. Special thanks to Dr. Ertan and his staff at the Ertan Digestive Disease Center at Memorial Hermann who gave John (Bob) excellent care for many years previously and more recently by Dr. Moutha and Dr. Zaibaq-Krill and staff.

The family gave a donation gift to the Memorial Hermann Foundation to enhance the care of liver transplant patients.
